From Wikipedia...

AC/DC (also pronounced Acadaca) are an Australian-British hard rock band formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young.

Because if it's on Wikipedia, it's gotta be true!

Right?

Hmmm, now I think I'll edit Spawn's listing...

Probably a slang term only used in Australia...

"Crikey mates, Ya 'eard tha ruckus from Acadaca? Them blokes may look like sheilas, but thay can wumpus wit da best of 'em."

Check this out...

AC/DC first played in America on the radio station AM 600 WTAC (based in Flint, Michigan). The station's manager, Peter C. Cavanaugh, booked the band to play in Flint's 'Capitol Theater' in the autumn of 1977. The opening act was The MC5 who were briefly reunited and agreed to play the event. AC/DC opened with their popular song, 'Live Wire' and closed with 'It's a Long Way to The Top (If You Wanna Rock & Roll)'. The entire event is chronicled in Cavanaugh's book. [13]
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Peter C. Cavanaugh was my last boss at Comcast before I left. He was fired not long after for swearing at another manager. That guy was a pistol! (He probably wrote that entry into Wikipedia )

I would not consider them a hair band but I'm sure Kevin Bacon is connected somehow.
